FARMER'S WIFE: Work in Progress

Another block completed.  I thought I was on a good and steady roll until I counted my completed blocks.  18 finished!  I'm not even 1/4 of the way through the blocks.  There are 111 blocks in all.

Don't get me wrong, but I am really enjoying hand sewing these blocks.  I just have to keep reminding myself that its going to take me at least a year to get this quilt top together (Lord willing!)  Originally, I was picking out the block patterns randomly, but it was taking too much of my thought process.  Now, I am sewing them in numerical order.  This newest completion is Block #12 - Broken Sugar Bowl.

A PILLOW TO MATCH

When I completed the "Pathway to Spring" quilt (kits are currently being assembled), I had a few pieces of leftover fabric.  There were just enough scraps to make a small accent pillow.

After an hour playing on the sewing machine, this is what I ended up with....a 10x20 throw pillow that matches perfectly!

FARMER'S WIFE QUILT BLOCKS

PATHWAY TO SPRING

I finally finished my sample for the quilt kits I will be assembling to sell on www.myfabricobsession.com.   The finished quilt measures approx. 98 x 100 and fits perfectly on a queen size bed.   It is my intention to have a few kits made up to sell within the next week.

FARMERS WIFE SAMPLER BLOCKS

At the beginning of the year, I gave myself a new challenge.  I am going to hand piece a Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt.  I have been slowly working on sewing blocks., and I thought I would share as I progressed.   Just a reminder: It is my goal to try and complete this quilt top by the end of this year, but the by the rate I am progressing this is probably going to be a two year venture.
