For the past five years, we have spent each Memorial Day weekend camping at Priest Lake, Idaho. Normally, my sister Krista, Jack and the boys (Ry and Coop) join us; along with Lisa, Mr. Wilson and their children (Zack and Em). Unfortunately, this year we were solo, as Jack's mother, Trish, passed away on Saturday after a thirteen year battle with cancer. Camping wasn't the same without our family and friends, but we seemed to enjoy our time together.
I was able to sit and relax, read some magazines I had been collecting, and even finished binding a quilt.
And, all while sitting in front of a fantastic camp fire (a must in my camping to-do's).
The weather held out and it only rained on us Friday evening. We took a small walk, had a few cocktails (tradition, of course), and soaked in all the natural beauty. All in all, it turned out to be a fun weekend.
