I normally spend months preparing for Christmas, and in a matter of hours, the day becomes a part of our past. Thanks goodness for photographs to freeze frame and capture our memories.
I love making gifts for my family and friends, and I try each year to accomplish as many homemade gifts as possible. Gifts made from the heart.
As usual, I always have too much on my plate, and I am scrabbling to get my holiday gifts complete. This year was no exception, as I was busy sewing on Christmas Eve. I wanted to make something for everyone, but it didn't work out. Unfortunately, I have two gifts still in the sewing stage and I will be trying to get these projects done.
In September, I launched my holiday gift project (aka HGP's). I set out making 12 gifts and completed 10.
Here is a recap and picture of the complete projects:
HGP #2: Quilt for Krista
HGP #3: Quilt for Kristina
HGP #4: Tote for Mom
HGP #5: Quilt for Elaine
HGP #6: Quilt for Kenny
HGP #7: Tote for Maribeth
HGP #8: Holiday Pillow for Misty
HGP #9: Work Still In Progress :-(
HGP #10: Pillowcase for Riley
HGP #11: Pillowcase for Cooper
HGP #12: Still in the works.
While it was a productive year for gifts from the heart (which included dozens of homemade cookies and candies), I am going to try and start my HGP's earlier next year!
