I am just days away from celebrating being a half of a century old! While I might be 50 years old, it doesn't feel any different than being 30! Where has the time gone? In the mean time, I'm going to enjoy celebrating, as I think I desire it!

NEWEST ARRIVAL IN FABRIC: MODA'S SAVONNERIE
A few weeks ago, my order of precuts in Moda's American Jane: Savonnerie arrived.
I am so pleased with the assortment of fabrics. The colors are bright and cheerful.
I have an idea on a sample quilt to make, however, I was at a loss on what to use as borders.
Sew, I ordered two bolts of fabric: a paisley and a polka-dot and they arrived last week.
Perhaps, you have a special quilt pattern you could use with this line of fabric. I know I have a lot of sewing to get completed!

NEWEST TRAVEL PROJECT
I'm preparing for a glorious vacation in celebration of my and my husband's 50th birthday. As always, I must have a hand project to work on while in an airplane, car, or any other mode of transportation.
During our last camping trip, I set up a little cutting station.
I brought a basket of material, a cutting mat, and some plastic bags. I then thumbed through my Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt book and selected different quilt block patterns to cut out and bag for my vacation.
In just a few hours of time, I was able to cut out ten quilt blocks to hand sew on my holiday. I just hope I find some time on vacation to do some sewing.

MINI PIN CUSHION
While at the Quilt Market, I ran into the cutest little wool pin cushions from Just Another Button Company (http://www.justanotherbuttoncompany.com).
I was tempted to purchased (as kits) some wool pin cushions with their signature buttons. While I thought they were priceless, I was not sure if there would be a great demand to sell the product through my website (www.myfabricobsession.com), as wool tends to be very spendy and you truly have to see these little gems to appreciate them.
Sew, I purchased a sample kit, and I was finally able to put it together. It stands about 2 1/2" tall. It is the cutest little thing EVER! And, it makes me wish I purchased some of the kits.
Below are just a few examples of the pincushion kits they offer.
What do you think....should I purchase a few?

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
Last weekend, I was able to spend a little time with my mom.
I surprised her with a special Mother's Day gift made with love just for her.
I wanted to give you a little sneak peak when I started the project, but I did not want to ruin the surprise since my mother is a faithful follower to my blog.
But now that she has received her gift (and I hope she likes it), I can share with you....

Love you Mom!

SPRING HAS DEFINITELY SPRUNG
The weather here in the Inland Northwest has been absolutely fantastic!! No complaints here! We have been unseasonably warm, and our average temperatures have been in the 80's (normally we're in the 60's).
My husband has already been outside prepping and manicuring the yard for the upcoming summer months. The weather normally dictates when I plant my vegetable garden, and I usually wait until close to Memorial Day weekend to plant the tender plants. However, since Mother Nature has provided us with this fabulous sunshine, I think I will venture out this weekend, dig in the dirt, and sow my seeds!
Even our apple tree is full of blossoms --- and if the bees get busy, we might get a load of apples this year! Oh, I can already taste the apple pie ~~
