The strawberry season finally hit the Inland Northwest, but about a month later then in past years. I don't know about you, but our growing season this year really sucks. I am now harvesting my spring vegetables (i.e. lettuce, beets, peas) in AUGUST! I am hoping the season drags out far enough to be able to pick some cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans and zucchini. I'll keep you updated.
Immediately after arriving home from Tennessee, I (all by myself) went up to one of our local farms and picked small but super sweet strawberries.
Math Quiz: 8# of strawberries + 8# of sugar =
24 pints of strawberry jam!
After passing out some jars to my children, family and friends, I think there should be enough left to last me through this next year.
