Road Trip

This weekend I went on a very special retreat. On Thursday, I packed my bags, loaded my quilt projects... ...said goodbye to my husband and my kitty, Boo, and out the door I went.
I made sure I had my hostesses gift packed (pin cushion/scrap bag made out of Kansas Troubles Summer's End that I made the week before), and proceeded to drive several hours to Bozeman, Montana to spend the next 4 days with my cousin, Linda who is also an avid quilter (and what I quickly discovered is also an awesome chef -- to which I greatly benefited)!
I arrived tired, but safe! I was greeted with a warm smile, big hug, a lovely chilled cocktail, and this BEAUTY...

Linda use to work for Bernina, so when I told her I was in the market to purchase a new machine, she gladly offered her assistance and picked me up a Bernina 440 (of course, using my credit card).

Over the next several days, I took this baby for a ride, and had my own personal instructor along the way. The weekend was filled with FABULOUS food, cocktails, late night chats, and sewing. I did not get my projects completed, as I had originally hoped. But, the weekend was not a total loss, as Linda and I did solve all of the problems of the world! I look forward to sharing the happenings of this past weekend in future posts.

So glad you had a fun time - you needed it (with work and all). So a fun week end with just you 2 girls, we ALL need that once in awhile.
