Tennessee Shop Hopping

While the guys were out golfing and chasing that little white ball, we spend a few days hitting the pavement and visiting a few of the local quilt shops.   First stop, Tennessee Quilts in Jonesborough, Tennessee.
So welcoming!  An inviting front porch with comfy rocking chairs to sit in and shoot the breeze
and bolts and bolts of fabric.   Upstairs held their holiday selection, clearance room, fat quarters, and their completed quilts that were for sale.
Downstairs held an array of various fabric lines, and lots of sample quilts to admire.  It was a really fun shop, and they are even featured in the May 2011 issue of Quilt Sampler.  Check them out!
Next stop, In Stitches located in Johnson City, Tennessee
The Tennessee hospitality was FABULOUS.  The quilt shop employee was so friendly, helpful and informational.  I spent a lot of time admiring their Riley Blake collection of fabric, and their variety of the new Moda bolts of vinyl (as I am thinking about sewing up a rain coat in the future).
On to the Sewing Bee in Jonesborough, Tennessee,
where I purchased a Layer Cake and a few patterns.
A quick stop at Holloway's Country Home in Crosby, Tennessee
A wonderful stop along the Appalachian Quilt Trail!
Final stop (and my favorite), the Cherry Pit in Sevierville, Tennessee (http://www.quiltingatthecherrypit.com)
We loitered here for a few hours touching fabric, viewing their displays, taking pictures, and...(of course) purchasing new projects!
I absolutely loved this store.  Everything you could want!
I am a sucker for cute displays and sample quilts.
Lots of ideas
This patriotic quilt left me in Aw!  I absolutely loved it!  So much so, that I bought the quilt packages (block of the month) in full.  Came home with eight bundles for the QOM.  I am hoping to tackle this baby soon!
All in all, our Tennessee Shop Hopping was so much fun!  I love shopping and learning new things.
I will be back someday!
